TLC Training - Class Descriptions

Puppy Socialization– If you only do one thing for your furry friend, this is it! For all puppies under 5 months old (20 weeks) this is a safe place for your puppy to meet other dogs and people.

Stay after playtime to discuss topics such as: housebreaking, crate training, puppy mouthing and biting, puppies that jump, grooming, and more!

Tuesdays 6:30pm - 7:30pm weekly
$10 drop-in (cash only please)
$50 unlimited Tuesday night play until 20 weeks of age

Level One

When you purchase a package of classes, you may choose to attend classes once a week, like a traditional class, or use it on a drop-in basis, like a gym pass! This flexibility means you never have to worry about missing a class, and allows you come more often and progress more quickly. There is no specific start date, so you can start right away

4 class package - $95.00
8 class package - $180
Packages expire 6 months after purchase

All dogs and puppies begin in Level One, and graduate to higher levels as the dog and handler demonstrate the skills below.

Skills to be demonstrated include:

Performing a sit or a down with a single cue

Performing a sit-stay or a down-stay for 30 seconds with the handler beside the dog with a single cue

Responding with attention the first time the handler says the dog's name with a single distraction 10 ft away

Performing a recall ("come") with no distractions a distance of 30 ft

Leaving a treat in the handler's open hand for 5 seconds with a single cue

Walking with a loose leash a distance of 30 ft with encouragement and proper use of rewards
